In re SUSANNAH MUNDEN: DECEASED. This is the last will and testament of me Susannah Munden of Brigus in the Northern District of Newfoundland Widow of the late Nathaniel Munden of the same place Shipowner deceased. I revoke all former wills by me at any time made or executed. I give and bequeath all my property money and effects of every description and kind to which I am or may be entitled whether under the will of my said late husband or my shares or interest in the estate of my deceased son Azariah Percy Munden or otherwise howsoever to my son Henry Munden who has for many years left this country and whose residence is at present unknown provided my said son Henry return to Newfoundland within three years after my decease to the knowledge of my executors. But should my said son Henry not return as aforesaid then I give and bequeath all my aforesaid property money and effects to my daughters Elizabeth Norman Charlotte Walsh and Caroline Munden their respective executors and administrators in equal shares of the residue after my said daughter Caroline Munden shall be paid one hundred pounds currency which I give and bequeath to her in addition to her said share and I hereby declare that the bequests to my said daughters are independent of the control debts or liabilities of their present or any future husband. I appoint Robert Brown of St. John’s Esquire Manager of the Commercial Bank and Nathan Munden of Brigus aforesaid Shipowner executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and set my seal this twenty-sixth day of September Anno Domini eighteen hundred and sixty eight.Susannah Munden (LS) Signed published and declared by the above named testatrix as for her last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto signed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said testatrix and in the presence of each other, William Ewen Shenstone, William Green Senr. I Susannah Munden of Brigus in the Northern District of Newfoundland Widow of the late Nathaniel Munden of the same place Shipowner deceased, do hereby ratify and confirm the last will and testament made by me dated the twenty sixth day of September Anno Domini eighteen hundred and sixty eight and executed by me in presence of William Ewen Shenstone and William Green Senr except as far as concerns the appointment in the said will and testament of Robert Brown of St. John’s Esquire Manager of the Commercial Bank as one of the executors thereof and I hereby revoke such appointment of the said Robert Brown as such executor and I hereby nominate John Wilcox of Brigus aforesaid Esquire J.P. to be executor of my said will with Nathan Norman therein named. And I further will and direct that the said John Wilcox and Nathan Norman as such executors do retain and pay to themselves five per centrum on the value of my estate as a remuneration for their services in the winding up and distribution of my estate In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and set my seal this twentieth day of February Anno Domini eighteen hundred and seventy one.
