PCC Will of Susanna otherwise Susana Heighington, Widow of Saint Augustine, Bristol, Gloucestershire.

Susanna’s Will made on Oct 29, 1830; and Probated at London on Aug 19, 1834.


I Susanna Heighington of the parish of Saint Augustine in the City of Bristol, Widow, being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, do this twenty ninth day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty, make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say. I give and bequeath unto my Sister Catherine Ash of Trinity Bay, Newfoundland; my Estate situated at Mosquito Point, the property of the late Conway Heighington Esquire. Situated on the South side of Harbour Grace, for her life only. And I give to my said Sister, the rents of my other Estates in Newfoundland, during her life only. And at her decease, the rents of the said Estate and Estates to be equally divided between her children Sarah Goss of Newfoundland, and Susanna Lander of the Town and County of Poole, during their respective lives. And on the decease of one of them, a moiety of the said Estate to go to the child or children of the person surviving, and her or their heirs, as tenants in common. And on the heirs of the other of them, her moiety to go to her child or children, and his, her, or their heirs as tenants in common. And all the rest and residue of merits and personal Estate, I give to my Nieces Sarah Goss and Susanna Lander equally between them. Charged and chargeable with the payments of my debts and funeral expenses. And I make constitute and appoint my said Nieces Sarah Goss and Susanna Lander joint Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament, I trust for the purposes Before mentioned. And I direct and authorize them to reimburse their parts respectively out of my Estates and Effects, all such costs charges and expenses as they shall or may respectively sustain, or be put unto, in the execution of the trusts of this my last will and testament. And I revoke all former wills and bequests by me heretofore at any time made, and declaring this and no other, to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal, the day and year first above written. Susanna Heighington. Signed, sealed, published, and declared, by the said Susanna Heighington the Testatrix; as and for her last Will and Testament. In the presence of us who at her request, in her presence, and in the presence of each other, hereby subscribed our names as witnesses hereto. Edward Burgess. Thomas Griffin. Margaret Gauntlett.

Probated at London, August 19, 1834. By the Oath of Susanna Lander, wife of John Lander, the Niece, one of the Executrixes. To whom Admon was granted. Having been first sworn by Commission, duly to Administer. Power of making the like grant to Sarah Goss, wife of John Goss, the Niece, also the other Executrix; when she shall apply for the same.
