Samuel Jeffers deceased. In the name of God Amen. I Samuel Jeffers of Fresh Water Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland Planter being at present confined to my bed in an ill state of health but of sound mind and memory and knowing the uncertainty of this life and the certainty of death do make and ordain this my last will and testament and first whenever it shall please God to call me from this Vale of tears I then bequeath my soul into the hands of my merciful God who created and redeamed it and my body I deliver to the earth to be therein decently interred in the humble hope of resurrection to eternal life at the last day by the almighty power of my glorious Redeemer Jesus Christ my Lord in whom I believe whom I love and will forever adore Amen. And as for the temporal goods which it has pleased my God to commit to my charge I leave and bequeath in manner following viz:- It is my will and desire to give and bequeath to my two sons Francis and Joseph their heirs administrators or assigns for ever all that Fishing room and plantation now in my possession situate in Fresh Water bounded on west by Jonathan Moors on the east by George Davis on the north by the woods and on the south by the sea together with dwelling house stables and all belonging to or in any way appertaining to said premises. It is further my will and desire to give and bequeath to my sons Francis and Joseph their heirs administrators or assigns all that fishing room and piece or parcel of land situate in Fresh Water aforesaid bounded on the west by late Jonathan Moors Noel on the east by William Harvey on the north by the woods and on the south by the sea together with two cows and appurtenances belonging to or in anywise appertaining: To have and to hold the same to them and their heirs administrators or assigns for ever and I do hereby constitute and appoint Joseph H. Parsons and Philip Vatcher of the same place to be executors to this my last will and testament. And do hereby revoke and make null and void all other wills and testaments heretofore made by me or bearing my name and do pronounce and declare this to be my only true last will and testament. Given under my hand and seal in Fresh Water Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland aforesaid this the seventeenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousnd eight hundred and fifty seven.
