I Robert Badcock of Coley’s Point, in the Island of Newfoundland, fisherman, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made, and as to my worldly estate, and all the property, real, personal, or meted, of which I shall die seized and possessed, or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following, to wit:-     I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Tryphenna Badcock the right to live in my house and have the use of all my household property while she remains unmarried. I also give devise and bequeath to my said wife Tryphena Badcock one fourth part of my land, all right and claim to the said land to cease should she marry again. In the event of her death before marrying again said land shall revert to which ever son she may decide to leave it to.
I give devise and bequeath to my beloved daughters Mary Badcock Bessie(?) Badcock and Ethel Badcock the right to live in my house and have the use of my household furniture in conjunction with my wife, their mother, while they remain unmarried. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved sons Aschel Badcock, Robert Badcock, and William Badcock all the residue of my land, now in my possession, to be divided equally between said sons Aschel, Robert and William Badcock by lines running north and South from the waters of Bay Roberts Harbour to the south boundaries, consisting of the neck Roads and land sold by be(?) to Christopher Bishop and Robert Badcock, said sons also to have use of household property in conjunction with their mother and sisters. I give devise and bequeath to my said sons the right to live in my house till they shall make homes for themselves, and my house shall become the property of my youngest son William Badcock after the marriage of my daughter and the marriage or death of my wife and lastly I do nominate and appoint my son Aschel Badcock, and my wife Tryphena Badcock to be the executors of this my last will and testament.
