Will of Richard Anderson from Newfoundland will books volume 4 page 131 probate year 1881

 

In re
         Richard Anderson deceased.

In the name of God Amen.     I Richard Anderson of Harbor Grace in the Island of Newfoundland do make this my last will and testament,

first I will that my debts be paid, and for this purpose that the premises mortgaged to John Munn Esq Merchant of Harbor Grace aforesaid be sold for this purpose and after the amount of the mortgage which is three hundred and twenty pounds currency be paid then the residue be applied to the sole use and benefit of my daughter Sidney Jane Anderson.

Secondly I will that all the remaining part of my premises viz from that aforenamed as mortgaged to Mr. Munn unto the waterside be the property of the said Sidney Jane Anderson and her mother (during the life time of the latter) and her heirs for ever, but should it so happen that the said Sidney Jane should die without heirs then the property aforesaid to be held in trust by the Wesleyan Methodist Minister comprising the District of Newfoundland for the time being and for the sole use and benefit of a school to be directed by the Wesleyan district aforesaid in Harbor Grace.

Thirdly I will and bequeath unto Sarah and Edward Comer that strip of land lying between the north end of Barnes garden and the cross fence the east side to be a straight line with Barnes garden fence The Northern half to be Edwards and the Southern Sarahs     I also give to Edward all my shooting craft and carpenters Tools and wearing apparel-

Fourthly all the residue of my chattels of what nature and kind soever I give and bequeath to my daughter Sidney Jane Anderson for all time and do hereby name the legatees Jane and Sidney Jane Anderson as the lawful executors of this my last will and testament and I hereby revoke all former wills or bequests by me in any wise made, establishing this as my last will and testament.     Given under my hand and seal this first day of May one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three-     Richd Anderson (LS)     Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Jonathan Bradbury,     Edward Comer.
