Probate Court Newfoundland

Whereas ROBT BELLOWS of Bere Regis, in the County of Dorset but late of Carboneer in the Island of Newfoundland, Surgeon, deceased, Departed this life some time since Intestate, leaving behind him MARY BELLOWS his lawful wife and relict entitled to Letters of Administration, of all and singular the goods, chattles, and Credits of the Deceased.

Now Know, all men by these presents, that I the said MARY BELLOWS, Widdow, for divers goods causes and considerations me hereunto especially moving, do nominate, constitute and appoint my good friend Mr. JOHN ELSON, of Carboneer in the Island of Newfoundland, my true and lawful Attorney for me and in my name to appear in Company and Conjunction with my good Friend Mr. LAMBERT BRYAND of Carboneer, in the Island aforesaid, who is joint Administrator with me before the lawful constituted Surrogate of the Probate Court or some other competent Judge in this behalf for me and in my name to and procure Letters of Administration of all and singular the Goods, Chattles, and Credits of the said deceased ROBERT BELLOWS to be committed and granted to him for my use and benefit, And when such Letters of Administration are so had, for me and in my Name to ask demand, sue for recover and receive, of and from all and every person or persons whomsoever, all such debts, dues, and effects of the said Deceased, as shall be any ways due, owing, or belonging to the Estate and Effects of the said Deceased and for me and in my Name to give Quitances Releases and Discharges in Laws for the same, And further to do and perform every act, or thing appertaining to my duty as an Administratrix, And I hereby promise to ratify and confirm all and whatsoever my said Attorney shall lawfully do, or cause to be done in the premises by virtue of these presents.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this thirteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Sixteen.
