This is the will of me Michael Hayes of Cupids Conception Bay Newfoundland I give and devise my estate and effects as follows.

I give my dwelling house land and cow also my fenced land near my house (with the exception of the upper strip which I bought from John Cooke) unto my wife Mary Hayes during her life and after her death to my son Joseph Hayes

I give to my son Patrick Hayes the upper strip mentioned above

My garden near the cross roads I give to my son William Hayes also my sleigh to William

And my property on the Labrador I divide as follows

To my son Patrick I give one boat called Can’t help It and a place to build a house and stage

And the remainder of Labrador property I give and and divide equally between my sons William and Joseph. And I appoint James Wells executor of this my will.

Dated this eight day of March A.D. 1904. Michael his X mark Hayes.
