The last will of Michael Hayes
late of Cupids Conception Bay, Fisherman deceased. This is the will of me Michael Hayes of Cupids Conception Bay Newfoundland I give and devise my estate and effects as follows. I give my dwelling house land and cow also my fenced land near my house (with the exception of the upper strip which I bought from John Cooke) unto my wife Mary Hayes during her life and after her death to my son Joseph Hayes I give to my son Patrick Hayes the upper strip mentioned above My garden near the cross roads I give to my son William Hayes also my sleigh to William And my property on the Labrador I divide as follows To my son Patrick I give one boat called Can’t help It and a place to build a house and stage And the remainder of Labrador property I give and and divide equally between my sons William and Joseph. And I appoint James Wells executor of this my will. Dated this eight day of March A.D. 1904. Michael his X mark Hayes. Signed by the testator in the joint presence of us who thereupon signed our names in his and each others presence having been first read over to testator. Patrick Haberlin Michael J.
