Will of Maurice Connell

In re MAURICE CONNELL: DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me Maurice Connell of Harbor Grace. I will that my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my executors hereinafter named. I give devise and bequeath the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars pounds now in the Union Bank of Newfoundland for which I possess the deposit receipt of said Bank dated the fourth day of September one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven with interest thereon at the rate of three per cent per annum payable in January and July one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight, after my decease, to my wife Catherine Connell for and during the term of her natural life to and for her use and benefit and for the maintenance support and education of my children Ann Connell, David John Joseph Connell and Catherine Mary Connell with power to the said Catherine Connell, my wife, by deed will writing testamentary or otherwise to appoint and direct the disposition of said money and every part thereof, after her decease, to and for the use benefit maintenance support and education of my said children and for the disposition thereof unto them when they attain the age of twenty one years-

I give devise and bequeath to my said wife Catherine Connell all monies debts securities and demands now due and owing or which may be due and owing to me, after my decease, to and for her use and benefit and for the benefit of my said children. I appoint Mr. Eugene Hamilton Teacher of St. Patrick’s School Harbor Grace and Mr. Patrick Devereux, executors of this my last will and testament I hereby revoke disannul and make void all former and other wills and testaments and codicils made by me and do solemnly declare this to be my last will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at Harbor Grace aforesaid this fifth day of March Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight,
