In re: MARY ANN HAYES. DECEASED.
This is the last will and testament of me Mary Ann Hayes widow, of Brigus. I hereby give to my grandson James Llewlyn Clarke one bed & bedstead, one bedroom set, one large chest, one looking glass, one rocking chair and one copper kettle.
I give to my grandson Isaac Clarke, one bed, bedding and bedstead one bolster, one trunk, one jug, basin and washstand. I give to my grandson John Goodison Clarke, one bed, bedding and bolster, also one chest, couch and 1 rocking chair.
I also give to my 3 grandsons, James Llewlyn Clarke Isaac Clarke and John Goodison Clarke, whatever money may be standing in my name in the Bank of Montreal, St. John's, to be divided amongst them in equal shares and proportions, when they attain the age of 21 years.
I further devise, that whatever money may be standing in my name in the Savings Bank, St. John's, shall after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid and a tombstone erected to the memory of myself and daughter, Susanna - one for both- be equally divided between my 3 grandsons aforementioned.
I also devise that my dwelling house, store and 3 gardens, be sold, and the proceeds be divided amongst my 3 grandsons aforenamed, share and share alike. And I hereby appoint Thomas Spracklin Sr and James Spracklin, sons of Thomas Spracklin, executors of this my will, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand, this twelfth day of March in the year of one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
