In re: JOSEPH STANFORD. DECEASED.
The last will and testament of me Joseph Stanford made at Grates Cove in the Electoral District of Bay de Verde in the Island of Newfoundland this ninth day of May A.D. Nineteen hundred and thirteen.
1. I will and bequeath to my sons William Stanford, Reuban Stanford, Eli Stanford, Joseph Stanford, the piece of land known as my fishing property and bounded on the North by land at present owned by Absalom Thistle on the south by land owned by Simon Snelgrove on the West by local road and on the East by the Beach to be equally divided amongst them
2. I will and bequeath to my son Eli the land on which his house is built and the cabbage garden in front thereof.
3. I will and bequeath to my son Reuban the land on which his house is built and the cabbage garden in front thereof.
4. I will and bequeath to my son William the land on which his house is built and the cabbage garden to the rear thereof and adjoining.
5. I will and bequeath to my sons William Stanford, Reuban Stanford and Eli Stanford the garden at present occupied by them and bounded on North by Main line of Road. On the South by the New Line, on the West by waste land, and on the East by land of Esau Cooper to be divided equally between them.
6. I will and bequeath to my sons Reuban Stanford and Joseph Stanford the piece of land known as the Big Meadow bounded on North by Essau Cooper's land, on the South by local Road, on the East by the Methodist Graveyard and on West by Main line, to be equally divided between them, Reuban taking the West part of the meadow and Joseph taking the East part. I hereby appoint John Vey as Executor to this my last will and testament. Joseph his X mark Stanford (LS) Signed and sealed in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request became subscribing witnesses hereto (it having been first read over to and explained to the testator, Joseph Stanford, who seemed to fully understand its contents,) Witness; Absalom B.
