Will of Joseph Hoyles
In the Estate of

Joseph Hoyles (deceased)

In the name of God, Amen, I, Joseph Hoyles his x mark of Cupids Conception Bay Dist. Of Port-de-Grave Newfoundland, being of sound and disposing mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this life, do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament as follows:

First I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Susanna Hoyles, the house in which we now reside situated in Cupids aforesaid during her natural life, by me now owned, also all the household furniture and all other items not particularly named also all my land gardens outhouses farming implements horse and all gear connected, cattle, and all the money that I may own at the time of my decease I do give to my said wife during her life

Second: That at the death of my said wife all the aforesaid mentioned in this my will, viz house, outhouses, land, gardens, furniture farming implements horse and all the gear connected, cattle, and all the money that may remain unexpended I give unto my adopted daughter Rhoda Hoyles forever.

Signed declared and published by the above named Joseph Hoyles his X mark as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us, who at his request, have signed as witnesses to the same this eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three having been first read over to Testator

I certify the foregoing to be a correct of the last will and testament of Joseph Hoyles deceased.
