In re: JOHN ARCHIBALD PEARCE. DECEASED.
In the name of "God", Amen. I Archibald Pearce, of the Dock, in the District of Port-de-Grave, being of sound mind but feeble in body- do make this my last will and testament in the following form-
First to my wife Elizabeth Ann Pearce, I give and bequeast two thirds of the whole estate left and bequeasted to myself and my mother by my father to be hers forever, to do what she like with.
Second, The remaining one third of the whole estate I also give to my said wife for the support, maintenance, good care and attendance of my mother Fanny Pearce during the remainder of her life. She my said mother being at the present time in her dote-age, and is both deaf and blind- and is not capable to take charge of the estate.
Third. It is also my wish and desire that no part of the said estate shall be given away or sold by my said wife or mother, (unless it is for their immediate suport), untill after my said mothers death, then the whole estate become the property of my said wife- But should my wife refuse to look after my mother I give full power and authority to my executors to sell said one third of the whole estate for my said mothers support- and I appoint the Rev. F. Severn and Mr. Nathan Newell to be my executors Signed by me this 21st day of December A.D. 1913. Archibald Pearce. Witnesses, Robert J. Wells Nathan Newell.
