Will of John Murran

In re: JOHN MURRAN. DECEASED.

I John Moran of Spaniards Bay in the Dominion of Newfoundland, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this as my last will and testament; hereby revoking all former wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore at any time by me made.

I hereby appoint Howard Gosse and William Neil of George to be the Executors of my Will. I hereby direct my said Executors to pay all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, as soon as possible after my decease. I hereby bequeath to my son James the Eastern half of my timber land, together with sufficient land on the east of my property to make a road leading to public road known as New Harbor Road.

I hereby bequeath to my son John the western half of my timber land and all my cultivated land west of cart-road which I have bequeathed to my son James, together with dwelling house, outhouses and all erections thereon, with all paths, passages and appurtenances thereunto.

I hereby devise to my grandson James Raymond Murran my bed and bedding. I devise and bequeath to my sons James and John Murran, aforesaid, and my daughters Mrs. John Mercer and Mrs. George Drover, all monies remaining after my funeral and testamentary expenses is paid equally divided among them. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this thirteenth day of January A.D. 1920.

Signed, sealed published and declared by the said James Murran as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us present, at the same time, who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to the due execution hereof. Jesse Gosse Com. S.C. Josiah Neil of James.

I John Murran further devise and bequeath to my daughter Mrs. John Mercer spinning wheel and cards, also one-half of box of crockeryware, the remaining half to my daughter Mrs. George Drover. John his X mark Murran Witness Jesse Gosse Com. Jesse Gosse Com. Josiah Neil of Jas.
