We the undersigned to certify that we heard John Morris declare this day (he being in dying circumstances but perfectly sensible) that the whole of his property in the event of his decease was to his wife Sarah Morris's and his son Wm. Morris and after the decease of his said wife, the whole to be his son William's. And that the undersigned Richard Rankin was to be the sole executor of this his last will and testament. Signed John Thompson and Richard Rankin I acknowledge the above to be my last will - signed John Morris (x his mark) Witness: James Popplestone and John Morris ....paper as the last Will and Testament of John Morris was proven before me by the oath of Richard Rankin, subscribing witness thereto on the sixteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and thirty four, and the same is hereby actually registered by me this day.
