Will of John Griffin

IN RE:   JOHN GRIFFIN.    DECEASED

Know all men by these presents that I John Griffin of Colliers. Fisherman, being of sound mind and memory, do make this as my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me at any time.

1st. I hereby bequeath to my son John land sufficient for the erection of a dwelling house and stable also a kitchen garden and calfs from the same he now holds possession of.

2nd. I bequeath to my son James land sufficient to erect a dwelling house and stable: also land sufficient to sow five barrels of potatoes bounded on the E by Matt. Whelan and is not to go any further S.W. or North than the marks that I have shown him the same land he now holds possession of.

3rd. I bequeath to my son Richard and to my daughters, Mary Moriarty Lizzie Byrne and Bridget Shea one shilling Sterling each.

4th. I bequeath to my son Patrick Griffin the remainder of my land my dwelling house and out houses all my live stock and all my household goods and effects to have and to hold after my death.

5th. I hereby appoint George Whelan to be executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I hereto set my hand this thirtieth day of April one thousand nine hundred and four. John his X mark Griffin. Signed and acknowledged by the said John Griffin in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses. James Whelan John Keating.
