Will of John Barrett

IN RE:   JOHN BARRETT.    DECEASED

I John Barrett of Coley's Point in the district of Harbour Grace make my last Will & Testament on the fifth day of December one thousand nine hundred and twenty five.

I hereby revoke all my former wills Codicils and Testamentary Dispositions.

I appoint my Brother Robert Barrett and Willis Smith executors of this my will.

I give and bequeath to my sister Dorcas Barrett All my books and my enlarged Photo thats in the front room.

I give and bequeath to my brother Robert Barrett All my tools. My Shop & Dwelling with contents and land that it is on to be my wifes Julia Barrett to be sole possessor while she holds her present name. But not to sell any part or parcle In case she marries again it all reverts to my Brother Robert Barrett or if should he marry and have a male hier then it reverts to that hier Any other property that I may have through my fathers will, my wife to have the use of same while she holds her present name. Any money coming from any of the Societys which I belong to be my wifes Julia Barrett. My large trunk to be for my mother Fanny Barrett. My watch to be given to my niece John Robert Dawe also my walking stick and my ever-sharp pencil for my sister Aleitha dawe.

In witness whereof I the above named Testator have hereunto set my hand the day and year first above mentioned

Signed by the Testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us, who being present at the same time in his presence and have hereunto subscribed our names as witness.
