In re JAMES WALSH: DECEASED. Brigus N F Land June 17th 1876. I James Walsh of Brigus in the Island of Newfoundland, being sick and weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, and as touching the worldly estate wherewith God has blessed me in this life I give devise and dispose in the following manner and formFirst, I give and bequeat unto Thomas Walker of Brigus aforesaid all my property, namely, my house premises, land and chattels, on condition, consideration and with the understanding, that the said Thomas Walker is to support and maintain myself the said James Walsh and sister Ellen Walsh during our natural lives and when dead give us a decent Christian burial, provided also that in case the said Thomas Walker should die without lawfully begotten the said house premises and all other property shall revert to his brother Richard Walker his heirs and assigns Second I give and bequeath to the Nuns of the Convent of Mercy of Brigus aforesaid the sum of fifty pounds currency to be paid within a month after my death, not doubting but the good ladies will pray for my soul, and also I give ten pounds to the Parish Priest for Masses to be said with as little delay as possible after my death- I the said James Walsh also give and bequeath after the demise of my sister the said Ellen Walsh the residue or balance remaining due to my estate at Savings Bank at St. John’s to Thomas Walker aforesaid Provided always that my sister Ellen Walsh may have the power of naming a sum as she may deem fit as to donation towards the erection of a Catholic Church in Brigus same donation not to exceed forty pounds currency Lastly, I constitute, make and ordain James Tarahin, Thomas Walker and sister Ellen Walsh my executors to see me and sister Decently buried and everything else properly ordered according to the true intent of this my last will and testament, James Walsh (LS) In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal Signed sealed and delivered by the said James Walsh as his last will and testament in presence of Jas.
