Will of James Titford

IN RE:   JAMES TITFORD.    DECEASED

Know all men by these presents that I, James Titford of Muddy Hole, Bay Roberts, fisherman, being in my right mind and of good understanding, do make this my last will and Testament. To my wife Julia Titford, I give and bequeath all my land situated at Muddy Hole with the house, shop and outhouses, and their contents, and all my personal effects, to remain in her possession until she dies or re-marries. I also give and bequeath to my wife Julia Titford, the sum of two hundred dollars, and the percentage arising from same from the date of her coming into possession

At the death of the aforesaid Julia Titford, or in the case of her re-marrying the whole property aforementioned consisting of land, house shop, outhouses and their contents and all my personal effects I bequeath to my son Albert James Titford his heirs and assigns. But if the death of the aforementioned Albert James Titford occurs before that of his wife Mabel Titford she is not to come into possession of any of the above-mentioned property If a son or daughter is born to Albert James and Mabel Titford, the property goes into his or her possession at the deaths of Albert James Titford, and my wife Julia Titford; and if the aforesaid Albert James Titford dies before his wife Mabel Titford, she is to obtain her support from the property, provided she remains his widow and works on the Titford premises

To my son Albert James Titford, I give and bequeath the sum of four hundred dollars, and the percentage arising from same from the date of his coming into possession, with the stipulation that he draw from the Bank not more than half of the above sum for the first five years from the date of his coming into possession My son Albert James Titford is to remain on the property and assist my wife Julia Titford, and do all in his power to help her in the upkeep of the property I hereby appoint Mr George Jardine, of Bay Roberts to be sole executor of this my last will and Testament I hereby state that the aforesaid Mabel Titford is to live peaceably while she remains and works on the Titford premises. The above mentioned sums of money are now on deposit in the Bank of Nova Scotia at Harbor Grace N.f.l.d.
