Will of James Mercer (of Richard)

In re: JAMES MERCER . DECEASED

I James Mercer of Mercers Cove, Bay Roberts of Richard being of sound mind and good judgement do hereby make my last will & testament. I bequeath to my son John the little garden attached to his present residence, and the rest of my land shares equally between my sons John & Richard excepting the piece of land upon which my house rests which is for my son Richard and also the house and all that is in it and the store and the Kitchen garden to Richard my son also. I also leave what remains of my money after taking out what is necessary to bury me and provide a headstone for myself and wife to my children and grandchild as follows. To Miriam my daughter $20.00 To Fanny my daughter $12.00 To John Mercer my grandson $12.00 and the balance of my money between my sons John and Richard witness my hand this 2nd day of June 1909. James his x mark Mercer of Rich. Witnesses Joshua Bradbury Azariah Mercer I name as my Executor Donald Fraser Bay Roberts June 2, 1909.
