George Spark Green deceased.
This is the last will and testament of me George Spark Green late of Brigus and at present of Halls Bay Nfld Lumberer hereby revoking all other wills and testaments by me herebefore made
First, I give, devise and bequeath unto my wife Fanney my Life Insurance Policy of one thousand dollars.
Second. I hereby appoint Alexander Scott Trustee for my son Herman Lodge Green and I give him for the purpose of educating my said son after he becomes ten years of age and until he reaches seventeen years Four hundred dollars at present at interest in Commercial Bank also Four hundred dollars at present on deposit in the Savings Bank at St. John’s- I also direct the monies at present in the Commercial Bank to be drawn from that Bank and deposited in the Savings Bank aforesaid immediately after my death and to remain in the Savings Bank for the purpose of this trust aforesaid
Third. The lumber (about 70 M) that I ship’d to my father at Brigus in the yearly part of this present month of Septr according as he sells the same he shall hand the monies over to my executors for my wife My father shall also pay my wife Fanney the ballance due me by him on previous account-
Fourth. The lumbering business at present carried on by John Curtice and myself I hereby direct my executors to have finally closed or wound up by the 31st day of October first ensuing and the ballance of account if any comeing to me I also give to my wife Fanney aforesaid- I also give to her all my personal effects household furniture cow potato and any other crop that I at present am possessed of-
Fifth In the event of my son Herman Lodge Green dieing before he attains the age of ten years or seventeen years as aforesaid The monies that I have devised in trust for his education shall then be given to the Newfoundland Wesleyan Conference to aid in the education of young men at Sackville for the Ministry I hereby nominate and appoint Arthur W. Martin and F.H. Chown both of St. John executors to this my last will and testament- In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Brigus this fifteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty four.
