In re
         Ellen Butler deceased.

This is the last will and testament of me Ellen Butler of Port de Grave, Newfoundland, widow, after payment of all my just debts, funeral expenses and fifty pounds cy for the repose of my soul and also fifty pounds cy to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, I give devise and bequeath unto my son Peter Butler the residue and remainder of all my real and personal estate-     And I hereby appoint Reverend J. C. Harvey and J.M. Maddock Esqr both of Port de Grave executors of this my will.     As witness my hand this fourth day of March 1879.     Ellen her X mark Butler (LS)     Signed and acknowledged by the said Ellen Butler the testator as and for her last will and testament the same will having first been read over to her in the presence of us being present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Jas. C. Harvey (LS)     Philip O’Reilley.
