Will of Elizabeth Clarke

IN RE:   ELIZABETH CLARKE.    DECEASED

I Elizabeth Clarke of South Side Brigus District of Port-de-Grave Newfoundland wife of William Clarke make and ordain this my last will and Testament namely.

First. I give and bequeath to my husband William Clarke and to my daughter Louisa Clarke, to be equally divided between them the half of my mothers land situate in Grog Marsh given me by my said mother Susannah Wilcox, but on the death of my husband William Clarke the whole of said property is to become the property of my daughter Louisa Clarke who is to look after and care for her father during his old age.

Second My bed and two pillows I give to my daughter Louisa Clarke, also three tables, stoves and several other articles of household furniture

Third After the death of the said Louisa Clarke the property herein before mentioned is to her daughter Asaneth Clarke

Fourth. One of the Cows and the two calves I give to my husband William Clarke and the other cow which was given me by my daughter Louisa Clarke when a heifer is be returned to her.

Fifth - whatever may be in the house belonging to my late mother I give to my son Benjamin Clarke except a bed and two pillows which I give to my daughter Gertrude Clarke.

Sixth. If my daughter Elefreda Dawe should be spared to come home Louisa is to divide some of the small things with her.

Seventh. Some of the land at Frog Marsh may be sold to provide a headstone for me, and my daughter Louisa Clarke will be at liberty to sell her interest in the said property should she feel disposed to do so at any future time and what is stated in paragraph third will not be binding in this particular

I hereby appoint Munden Clarke executor to this my last will and Testament In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand at south side Brigus Newfoundland this twenty-sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand nine hundred and eleven (1911) - Elizabeth Clarke - Signed published and declared by the said Testatrix Elizabeth Clarke as and for her last will and Testament in our presence and in the presence of each other signing as witnesses thereto Mary Ann Clarke.
