The last will and codicil of Elijah Coish late of Ochre Pit Cove in the district of Bay de Verde Planter deceased. I Elijah Coish of Ochre Pit Cove in the District of Bay de Verde Newfoundland Planter, being of sound mind, thus publish and declare my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former dispositions of my property. I give and bequeath as follows: - to my dear wife Elizabeth Coish my dwelling house and furniture, and other building and land at Ochre pit Cove, and, also stores, and fishing gear on the Labrador for her sole and separate use during her natural life at her death my daughter Abigail Coish shall possess the east room in the dwelling house as long as she remains unmarried at the death of my dear wife my son Eli Coish of Ochre Pit Cove is to have all the above named property with the exception of the above named east end of dwelling house during the occupancy of his sister Abigail Coish, and with the farther exception of half the meadow called the “Woods Garden” if his brother Elijah Coish now living at Musgrave Harbour, wishes to have it, otherwise it shall be all his, and I appoint my dear wife Elizabeth Coish sole executor of this my last will and Testament Elijah Coish his X mark. Dated this sixteenth day of February 1903. Signed acknowledged and declared by the said Elijah Coish as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us, who being present at the same time in his presence and in the presence of each other and at this request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. John Reay Margaret Reay (unintentionally omitted in the proper place in the above will and testament I bequeath to my son Enock(?) Coish of Ochre pit Cove the house and land at Ochre Pit Cove of which he is now in possession and at his death to his surviving eldest son and so on in succession so that the property shall be kept in the name of Coish Elijah Coish his X mark. Dated this sixteenth day of February 1903. Signed acknowledged and declared by the said Elijah Coish as part of his last will & testament in the presence of us who being present at the same time in his presence and in the presence of each other, and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
