In re Elijah Bishop deceased. In the name of God Amen. This last will and testament of me Elijah Bishop of south Side, Cupids near Brigus was made this twenty-seventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five I appoint Thomas Hussey and John Bishop (son of John) both of south side as executors of this my last will and testament. I give and bequeath all my land at South Side aforesaid to my two sons James & Elijah Bishop to be divided equally between them by a line running from the waterside to the public road leading from Cupids to Burnt Head, James to have the western piece, Elijah to have the eastern piece. I give and bequeath to my son Elijah the new dwelling house together with all the furniture contained in it. The sum of £120 I give & bequeath to be divided equally among my three daughters viz Ann Maria wife of Nathan Batten of South side Jane wife of Henry Bishop of South Side and Mary wife of Robert Bennett of Cupids so that each will receive a sum of £40.
