In re
David Troy deceased. The last will and testament of David Troy of Brigus Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland. I give and bequeath to Mary Ann Daly daughter of James Daly of Brigus aforesaid my house and garden situate in Irish Town in Brigus aforesaid. I give and bequeath to my brother-in-law James Daly all the rest of my property after paying all my just and lawful debts together with all my stock in trade, furniture of whatsoever kind &c. My dwelling house is built on leased property that also I give to James Daly aforesaid upon this understanding that he pays the rent during the unexpired term of the lease. I desire that in the event of my death James Daly aforesaid shall cause me to be decently and respectably interred. I also desire that James Daly do pay or cause to be paid to the Revd. Edward O’Keef or to the officiating Roman Catholic Clergyman of Brigus the sum of thirty shillings for Masses being said for the repose of my soul. And I do hereby nominate and appoint James Daly beforementioned to be executor of this my last will and testament. David Troy. Signed sealed published and declared as & for the last will and testament of the said David Troy in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our hands as witnesses thereto the said will being first read over to the said testator in our presence before he signed it and appeared to be fully understood by him on this seventeenth day of April A.D. 1863.
