Will of Charles Bishop

IN RE:   CHARLES BISHOP.    DECEASED

I Charles Bishop, of Coley's Point in the district of Harbor Grace, and Island of Newfoundland, fisherman, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time made. And as to my worldly estate and all my property, real personal or mixed, of which I shall die seized and possessed, or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease.

I devise bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following, to wit: I give devise and bequeath to my two sons Joseph Bishop and Augustus Bishop all my land bounded on the North by the Neck Road on the South by waters of the south arm of Bay Roberts, on the East by the land belonging to Thomas Little Johns, and the land belonging to Jonathan Squires on the west by the land belonging to Richard Bishop To be divided equally between the said Joseph Bishop and Augustus Bishop to have and to hold the same to the said Joseph and Augustus Bishop their heirs and assigns for ever. I give, devise and bequeath the said property to my two sons Joseph and Augustus Bishop on the condition that my two said sons Joseph and Augustus Bishop, support and maintain my beloved wife, and their mother Emma Bishop, during the term of her natural life, should she retain my name during that time.

And lastly, I do nominate and appoint my two sons Joseph Bishop and Augustus Bishop to be the executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Charles Bishop, have to this my last will and testament, subscribed my name this seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three Charles his x mark Bishop Signed sealed, published, and declared by the said Charles Bishop, as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto James Parsons James Norman.
