I, Abraham Parsons, of Harbor Grace in the Island of Newfoundland, Planter, being infirm of Body but of a sound [mind] and memory do this Twentieth day of October in the year of our lord One Thousand eight hundred and twelve make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say -- First, I Will and direct that all my Just debts and Funeral Expenses shall be fully paid and discharged, And I also hereby give and bequeath unto my daughter Amelia Bradbury, Wife of John Bradbury, and unto my Grandson John Archer that part of my Plantation from the old Chimney to Charles Webber's fence. Also, I do hereby and bequeath unto my son Henry Parsons that part of my Plantation from the said Old Chimney to the bounds of Coxes Room. Also, I do hereby give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Archer for and during her natural life Part of my Dwelling House and part of the Cabbage Garden (the Eastern part) and the Eastern part of the Garden behind the Dwelling House. Also, I do hereby give and bequeath unto my son William Parsons all that part of a spot of ground say from the Eastern part of Cox's fence as far to the Eastward as I drove in Stakes. It is to be understood that after the decease of my daughter Sarah Archer, the before mentioned bequest shall descend to her son John Archer, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns. Also, I do hereby give and bequeath unto my sons William and Henry all that my Fishing Stage to them, their Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns. The Eastern part to William and the Western part to Henry. Also, I do hereby give and bequeath unto my Grandson William Warford all that spot of ground say from William Parsons staked bounds as far as my land marks extends to the Eastward, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns. All my Household Furniture with the Bed, Bedding and all other my Effects I do hereby give and bequeath unto my son Henry Parsons whom I do appoint whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year before written...

This Codicil to this my last Will and I request maybe taken as part of the same. Whereas I have in and by my Last Will and Testament given and bequeathed unto my Daughter Sarah Archer part of my Dwelling and part of my Plantation as is described my said Will for and during her life and after her Death to my Grandson John Archer, I do now hereby give and bequeath the said part of my Dwelling House and part of the said Plantation therein described after her Death unto my said Son Henry Parsons his Heirs, Executors and Administrators.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty seventh day of October 1812. The mark of...

Personally appeared before me this day John Warford and maketh Oath that he actually saw Abraham Parsons sign and seal the annexed Original Will dated the 20th day of October 1812, deponent further sweareth that at the time the said Will was executed Abraham Parsons was of sound mind and memory, deponent also sweareth that William Lampen the other Witness there to has been dead for five or six years or thereabouts but was also present with deponent at the said execution of the said Will by the said Abraham Parsons...

Personally appeared before me this day Thomas Woolfrey of Harbor Grace, Blacksmith, and maketh Oath that he was present and actually saw Abraham Parsons put his mark to and Seal the within Codicil to his last Will and Testament dated the 27th October 1812, at which time the said Abraham Parsons was of sound mind and memory, deponent also sweareth that William Lampen the other subscribing Witness who has been dead about five years, was also present with deponent at the execution of the said Codicil by Abraham Parsons...

I hereby Certify that the execution of the Will of Abraham Parsons of which the foregoing pages Four hundred and twenty three, twenty four, twenty five and twenty six, contain a true and correct copy, was proved before me by the Oath of John Warford a Witness there to on the First day of June One thousand eight hundred and twenty Seven, and that the execution of the Codicil to the said Will, was also on the same day proved before me by the Oath of Thomas Woolfrey Witness thereto; and the same is hereby actually Registered by me this day.

Witness my hand at the Registrar of Deeds Office, Harbor Grace Newfoundland, this Ninth day of July one thousand [page cut off]....
