Will of Abraham Mercer

In re: ABRAHAM MERCER. DECEASED

In the name of God Amen I Abraham Mercer fisherman of Bay Roberts in Conception Bay Newfoundland, being of sound and disposing mind, do this Twenty-fourth Day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy four, make this my last will and Testament

I give to my son Abraham Mercer my Dwelling House situate at the Cosh Bay Roberts, and all the land there belonging to me as shown on the grant which I & my late brother Elijah Mercer hold from the Government as our security in the same land and except as follows. One acre of good uncultivated land which I give to my son Edward Wilson - and Two acres of uncleared land I leave to my wife, with power to sell the same with the approval of my executors if she want it for her own need, or the wants of my family during their minority and I name as executors to this my last will & testament Charles Mercer of Robt and my brother Reuben Mercer. Abraham his X mark Mercer (LS) Signed sealed and delivered by the above named Abraham Mercer this twenty fourth Day of April in our presence and in the presence of each other W.C. Earle R. H. Taylor
