The Last Will and Testament of Thomas
Thistle Probate year 1929
This is the last will and Testament of me, Thomas Thistle of Harbour Grace, Gentleman. After payment or all debts (if any) and funeral and testamentary expenses I give devise and bequeath the following, namely – To my daughter Minnie, wife of Elisha Button, the sum of Two thousand dollars. To my wife, Lydia the Dwelling House and the land appurtenant thereto and all the Household furniture and effects contained therein situate on the North side of Water Street in Harbour Grace TO HOLD the same to her for her life and after her death the said House and land and furniture and effects to go to my daughter Rowena TO HOLD the same to her for ever absolutely. All the rest residue and remainder of my estate lands, goods, chattels and effects I give devise and bequeath to my said wife Lydia and my said daughter Rowena share and share alike. I appoint my nephew David R. Thistle of St. John’s King’s Printer to be the Executor of this my will. Signed this 12th day of August Anno
