Joseph R. Udell deceased
This is the last Will and Testament of me, Joseph R. Udell of Carbonear in the Island of Newfoundland. I will devise and bequeath to my daughter, Margaret Cameron a sum of two thousand dollars. I will devise and bequeath to my daughter Jessie Joyce, a sum of five hundred dollars; I will also devise and bequeath to my daughter, Jessie Joyce, a sum of fifteen hundred dollars which was loaned by me to her husband, Robert Joyce in the year
nineteen hundred and thirteen A.D.. I will also devise and bequeath to my wife, Susannah Udell, my life insurance policy, equal in value to a sum of fifteen hundred and sixty-nine dollars. I do also request and enjoin my sons, William Udell and John Udell, that they support and maintain their mother in the same comforts as she has been accustomed during the remainder of her natural life. I will devise and bequeath to my daughter, Nellie
Udell, a sum of two thousand dollars. I do also request that my sons William Udell and John Udell support and maintain their sister Nellie in the same comforts as she has been accustomed until such time as she marries, after which they shall have no further obligations in this respect, I do further request that the millinary business owned by my three daughters and at present conducted by my daughter, Nellie, shall, at what ever time it becomes
necessary to wind the said millinary business up, or have it terminate, that the proceeds shall be divided equally amongst my three daughters, that is to say, the proceeds realized from the sale of the stock at the time of closing the said business and the profits derived from the said millinary business since its inception, each and all to be equally divided amongst my three daughters. I do further will, devise and bequeath all other monies and property by me possessed to my sons William Udell and John Udell to be equally divided between them, and I nominate, constitute and appoint herewith my sons William Udell and John Udell Executors to this to my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fifth day of September one thousand nine hundred and eighteen Anno Domini. Joseph R. Udell.
