In the name of God Amen

The last will and testament of Nicholas Rourke Farmer, made this third day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight and 75.  I Nicholas Rourke being now in a sound and perfect state of mine and memory but at the same time being very sick and in a very impefect state of body health and knowing that it is appointed for me once to die do hereby make this my last will and testament and dispose of my worldly substance while I have power and capacity to do so.  First I do will and bequeath my soul unto Almighty God who gave it to me and my body I leave to the disposal of my friends for interment.

Secondly I do will and bequeath unto my two daughters Bridget and Dorothy and their heirs my dwelling house, household furniture, outhouses, live stock consisting of two horses, three cows, two pigs carts cars ploughs and harrows together with my two farms one situated at Coadys Well and the other on the Broad Cove Road to have and to hold for ever.  

Thirdly I do will and bequeath unto my grand daughter Catherine Bermingham six acres of land out of the Broad Cove Road farm bounded by the road in front and on the westward by William Lawlor to have and to hold for ever.  

Fourthly I do will and bequeath unto my two daughters Catherine and Maria one shilling sterling each.
