In the name of God Amen: I James Lewis, of New-town Holyrood Planter, being weak in body, but sound in mind and memory, and knowing that it is ordained for once that all men to die, I do ordain and make this my last will and testament, and according to my estate of wich the almity god have blessed with in this life.


Firstly. I give and bequait to my son Elias Lewis all the land that I possess on the South of the main road from walls road to the South west end of Elias's house. The said Elias can live in my dwelling house, with his mother and sister, until such time as he will have his own house fit to live in, and also have the use of my stable whilst he is living in my house with the aforesaid.


Secondly, I give and bequait to my daughter Mary Ellen Lewis, all the land that i do possess on the North of the main road, from George Veitches, fence to opposite Aaron Lewis's house and also a second plot of land on the South of the main road. From the South west end of Elias's Lewis house, to Aaron Lewis's fence.


Thirdly. I give and bequait to the said Mary Ellen Lewis, my dwelling house, my stable and cellar.


Fourthly. my wife Ellen Lewis have the use of my dwelling house, and her support while she lives in this my house. My son Cornelius Lewis, if he do return to Holyrood, I bequait to my son Elias Lewis and my daughter Mary Ellen Lewis to pay him the sum of one dollar, that is 50 cent each. My son James Lewis, have his own land to the south west of Aaron Lewis's land. Signed sealed and delivered by the said James Lewis as his last will and testament. Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of witnesses This 16th day of April A. D. one thousand nine hundred and seventeen. James his X mark Lewis. Aaron Lewis. Wm. Maher.
