The Annual Examination of this School took place,
according to announcement, on Tuesday last, in the presence of a large
assemblage of our leading citizens - the parents and friends of the
pupils.
The various classes were subjected by Miss Flemming, their accomplished Preceptress, to a prolonged and most searching examination on the several branches of Arithmetic, Grammar, Geography and English History; and we can say, without exaggeration, that in all branches, they acquitted themselves not simply to the satisfaction, but to the admiration and delight of all who were present on the occasion. We never heard better readers in any school. Specimens of Penmanship were produced which could scarcely be excelled. The following is a list of the prizes awarded: General Scholarship Julia MOORE, 1st Writing Julia MOORE, 1st Regular Attendance Aggie PATERSON General Progress Fanny ROSE |
