Sarah Day deceased.

In the name of God Amen. I Sarah Day (widow of the late William Day) of Burin Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, being of sound mind and right judgement, do at my death give and bequeath my dwelling house lands fishing room store, household furniture and all and every thing to me belonging in manner following viz: I give to my eldest daughter Emma (wife of Charles Brinton) her heirs and assigns for ever all that part of my land on the west side of a well which is situate about the middle of the said land and which is now occupied by her; together with my garden land laying to the westward of the aforesaid land as occupied by my said dear daughter Emma and near a house occupied by Francis Moran. I give to my two dear sons Nathaniel and Charles Day all the remainder of my land and which is laying to the eastward of the aforesaid well (all bounded on the north by the main road and on the south by the water) to be by them equally divided; Nathaniel having the portion to the eastward and Charles the portion on the adjoining the part belonging to my daughter Emma Brinton and on which my house is now standing and which dwelling house he (my son Charles) is also to have. My desire is that my daughter Emma and my son Charles shall have their heirs & assigns an equal share and right in the use and all things necessary of the stores, flakes &c. now standing or which may hereafter be erected on the premises. I give to my youngest daughter Dinah my bed and bedding together with a right of residence in the house of my daughter Emma so long as she may be unprovided for. I also appoint that my two sons Nathaniel and Charles shall pay at my death to my dear daughter Dinah the sum of £;5. 0. 0 (stg) - being £2.10.0 (stg) each. Finally I appoint as my true and lawful executors to this my last will and testament the Rev. John C. A. Gathercole (or in his absence from this place & country) the senior Clergyman of the Church of England residing in Burin for the time being and William Butler Blacksmith. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 28th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty-nine-
