Will of Richard Purchase

IN RE:   RICHARD PURCHASE.    DECEASED

This is my last will and Testament of me Richard Purchase of Lamaline in the Island of Newfoundland planter.

First I will and direct that my executor hereinafter named shall first pay out of my general estate all my just debts and my funeral and testamentary expenses. I give and bequeath all and whatsoever property that I may be possessed of at the time of my decease to my brother Albert Purchase of Lamaline, Farmer

Second And I also bequeath whatsoever money I may be possessed of at the time of my decease in the Bank of Montreal and whatever money there may be in my House at the time of my decease to my Brother Albert Purchase of Lamaline aforesaid

I hereby nominate and appoint my Friend Edgar Kelland of Lamaline general dealer sole executor of this my will witness my hand at Lamaline aforesaid this 3rd day of June A.D. 1906 Richard his x mark Purchase witness G. R. Pitman M.E. Kelland. Signed by the said testator and by him declared to be his last will and testament (the same having been first read over and explained to him) in the presence of us who in his presence and in and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness (sgd) Geo R. Pitman (sgd) M. E. Kelland (sgd) Edgar Kelland Executor

I Richard Purchase being in Sound mind and memory will and bequeath to my niece Florence Hillier the sum of one Hundred dollars for the future care and support of my niece Elizabeth Susanna Purchase Infant daughter of my Brother Albert Purchase. Said sum of one Hundred dollars to be paid out of my Estate by my Executor to my said niece Florence Hillier as soon after my decease as shall by him be found convenient (sgd) Richard His x mark Purchase witness Thomas E Purchase G. R. Pitman Signed by said Richard Purchase on 22nd day of April A.D. 1907 in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other Subscribe our names as witness thereto (sgd) G. R. Pitman (sgd) Thomas E. Purchase (sgd) Edgar Kelland Executor

I Richard Purchase still affirm that though my niece Elizabeth Susanna Purchase died, the one Hundred dollars mentioned in my codicil shall be paid by my Executor to my niece Florence Hillier out of my Estate as soon as convenient to my executor after my decease Richard His x mark Purchase witness G. R. Pitman M. E. Kelland 16th November 1908
