Will of Rev. Patrick M. O’Connor from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 220-221 probate year 1907

 

 In re     Patrick M. O’Connor     deceased.

    Burin     Nov 22nd 1906.     In the name of God Amen I P.M. O’Connor of Burin in the Southern district of Newfoundland hereby annulling all former wills at any time made by me being of sound and disposing mind (weak in health) make this my last will and testament

  • I will and bequeath the parish Church of Burin two hundred dollars
  • Mortimer Bay Church one hundred dollars
  • Oderin Church one hundred dollars
  • the Convent Burin two hundred dollars and all debts owed me by said convent to be wiped out also any debts owed me by Burin church to be wiped out
  • To Madeline O’Dea one hundred dollars
  • my Cousin Katie Murphy two hundred dollars
  • my first cousin Mary Ellen O’Dea one hundred dollars
  • my God child James O’Brien one hundred dollars
  • Archibald O’Brien one hundred dollars
  • Lizzie Baker one hundred dollars
  • also my god child of John Keating (Salt Pond) fifty dollars
  • also to my god child of Hugh Reddy fifty dollars
Balance of insurance money to be delivered to John V. O’Dea Mrs D. Flynn Anastatia Kennedy and my aunt Anastatia St. John of three thousand government Bonds one thousand for low Masses for my father mother sister brother & self remaining two thousand dollars to be divided equally among cousins on my mothers side my house on No 34 Kings road St. John’s to be given to Mrs Murphy & Daughters & son my library Cattle furniture & other property including piece of land at Salmonier (Burin) to be divided equally amongst John & Maggie Feehan Leo Flory & Madeline O’Dea all lumber paints oils etc around place to be divided equally through the Parish disputed property at Corner of Kings road if Judgement is given in my favor to be given to Joseph Baldwin for life after his death to be given to Mrs Murphy & family all my lawfull debts to be paid by executor including funeral & other expenses.     I hereby appoint John V O’Dea my executor of this my last will and testament on this the twenty second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six     P.M. his X mark O’Connor signed in the presence of James McNamara Richard O’Brien
