IN RE: JOHN FORSEY. DECEASED
I, John Forsey of Grand Bank in the district of Burin Newfoundland, Planter, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, do make and publish this, my last will and testament.
1st. All gifts of land or otherwise made by me to my several children during my lifetime without writings, I hereby sanction and confirm to them severally and their heirs and assigns for ever.
2nd. to my son, Robert Forsey, I give and devise two thirds of that piece of meadow land situated near Admiral's Pond, commonly called "Hart's Farm".
3rd. To my daughter Dinah Ann, wife of Morgan French, I give and devise the remaining third of the piece last mentioned.
4th. To my son James Forsey I give and devise all that piece of meadow land situate near Admiral's Cove and formerly owned by my father-in-law the late James Hickman.
5th. To my four sons John, James, Aaron and Robert, I give and devise in equal shares to each that piece of waterside property situated on the west side of the harbour called the stage.
6th. To my daughter Selina, wife of George Aaron Forsey, I give and devise my dwelling house with all the surrounding land and out houses, and also all that piece of meadow land situate near the Cape now occupied by me, and not previously disposed of as provided in the first clause herein.
7th. All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate both real and personal, of which I may be possessed at the time of my death I give devise and bequeath to my said daughter Selina Forsey.
8th. I appoint my nephew George R. Forsey and my son-in-law George Aaron Forsey to be executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling all former wills by me at anytime heretofore made and ratifying and confirming this writing and no other to be my last will and testament.
In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand, this 17th day of February 1904.. JOHN FORSEY. Signed by the said John Forsey as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other at the same time subscribe our names as witnesses. CODICIL to the last will and testament of me John Forsey of Grand Bank in the district of Burin Newfoundland, Planter which will bears date the 17th day of February A.D. 1904
Whereas by my said Will I have made certain dispositions of my real and personal property, and whereas I now desire to make certain changes in the said disposition of the same. Be it known that I hereby revoke section 5 of my said will relating to waterside property called the stage, therein devised to my four sons, and I hereby give and devise the said stage property to my son James for his sole use absolutely.
To my son John I give and devise three feet of land along the south side of his workshop running the length of the building and three feet wide as aforesaid.
To my son Aaron I give and bequeath the old Grandfather's clock formerly owned by my father. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand the 19th day of September 1910. JOHN FORSEY
