In re: JAMES INKPEN. DECEASED

Burin March 17th 1903
This is the last will written by me James Inkpen In The name of God amen I James Inkpen of Burin Newfoundland

1st. It is my will, and wish, that I do order that all my just debts, and funeral expenses be duly paid as soon as convenient after my death.

2nd I give and bequeath unto my wife, House stores Lands and all utensils connected with the property. I also authorize my wife to be the sole owner of my property. And all debts that may be due me, this is for my wife as long as she lives. After her death it belongs to my son Eleazar Z. Inkpen He is to provide and give his sisters House room as long as they are single.

3rd I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah the sum of Twelve hundred dollars $1200.00.

4th I give and bequeath unto my son Eleazar the sum of Twelve hundred dollars $1200.00 this money is to be placed to his credit in the Bank until he is twenty years of age.

5th I give and bequeath unto my daughter Carrie, the sum of Twelve hundred dollars $1200.00. this money is to be placed to her credit in the Bank until she is twenty years of age.

6th I give and bequeath unto my two sisters the sum of Four hundred dollars $400.00 Mary & Elizabeth two hundred each, paid at the earliest convenient after my death

7th I leave the sum of one hundred dollars $100.00 to buy a library for Sunday school connected with Collins Cove Church.

8th I leave the sum of fifty dollars $50.00 to help buy a library for Sunday School at Gt. Burin.

9th I leave the sum of fifty dollars $50.00 to help buy a library for Pardy’s Island & Stepaside Sunday School.

10th I leave the sum of Twenty-five dollars $25.00 to the officiating clergy paid at the earliest convenient after my berial.

11th I also leave the sum of Thirty dollars $30.00 to my bearers, five dollars each, to be paid at the earliest convenient.

12th I also leave the sum of one hundred dollars to John Mitchell of Joseph if alive $100.00 paid at the earliest convenient.

13th I leave the sum of Two hundred dollars $200.00 to be placed on interest, the interest taken each year and given to Foreign Mission Society.

14th I leave the balance to my wife.

15 I appoint my wife and three children Sarah, Eleazer & Carrie to be the executors of this my last will. I James Inkpen of Burin do appoint and give full power to my son Eleazer, and the Presiding Clergy to draw and receive my moneys from bank or whatever place it may be after my death. witness James Inkpen Charles Howse Methodist Minister
