IN RE: GEORGE WAY. DECEASED
I George Way of Grand Bank in the District of Burin, Newfoundland shoe-maker, being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament.
1st I give and devise to Caroline Wooden and Mary Walsh, both of Grand Bank, in equal shares to each all that piece of land owned by me at or near Point Brube.
2nd I give and bequeath to the said Caroline Wooden my old cooking stove, and also all my interest in a certain pew standing in my name in the Methodist church at Grand Bank.
3rd. To Benjamin George Welsh son of Mary Welsh aforesaid, I give and bequeath my bed and bedding.
4. To George Wooden son of Caroline Wooden aforesaid I give and bequeath my watch.
5th To Lydia Wooden daughter of the said Caroline Wooden, I give and bequeath my clock.
6 I give and bequeath to each of my three sisters, Susan Stag, Sophia Stag and Amelia Eady all of Little Catalina the sum of fifty dollars.
7th To my brother William Way of Little Catalina I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars.
8 To my nephew George Way of Little Catalina I give and bequeath the sum of twenty five dollars
9 To my nephew, George Way of Flowers Cove I give and bequeath the sum of twenty five dollars.
10 To my nephew George Shea of New York in the United States of America. I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars.
11 To my niece Fanny York of Los Angeles, in the State of California, I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars.
12 All my interest whatever it may be worth, in my dwelling house standing on ground belonging to another, together with any other of my personal effects that may remain apart from the above bequests, I give and bequeath to the aforesaid Caroline Wooden and Mary Welsh, to be equally divided between them.
13. I appoint George R. Forsey Magistrate, and Charles Forward Merchant to be executors of this my will, and I hereby direct my said executors to pay my funeral and testamentary expenses, and distribute my estate as soon as conveniently may be after my decease and I hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this writing and no other to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the twentieth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven. George his x mark Way Signed by George Way the testator by making his mark thereto, the same having been first read over to him and declared by him to be his last will and testament in the presence of us, who in his presence and in the presence of each other at the same time subscribe our name as witnesses.
