Will of George Britt
In the Estate of

George Britt deceased.

In the name of God Amen. I George Britt of Burin Newfoundland, being of sound mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament in the manner and form following.

1st It is my will that my funeral shall be conducted by my friends in a decent manner and all expenses thereof be fully paid.

2nd I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Britt the meadow land and garden, and part of the house in which we now reside, situated at place commonly known as Tookes Point in Burin as aforesaid, during her natural life, and all the utensils and furniture together with sheephouse and two sheep &c, by me now owned and kept thereon.

3rd And that at the death of my beloved wife Mary Britt all the property bequeathed to her viz. The meadow land, garden, and part of the house in which we live, I give unto my beloved daughter in law Francis Britt, and in the event of the said daughter in law Francis Britt changing her name for another marriage, that I give the said property as above mentioned, to her child, or children and to her or their heirs forever. The utensils, furniture and two sheep I give unto my wife as aforesaid the same to be made use of, and disposed of, as she may desire or determine.

4th I give and devise to my beloved daughter in law Francis Britt the meadow land, garden and part of the house now in the occupancy of her husband James Britt and in the event of the said Frances Britt changing her name by another marriage, that I give the aforesaid property to her child or children, and to her or their heirs and assigns forever.

5th And last I hereby appoint Mr. Daniel Bishop and Mr. Benjamin Mitchell to be executors of this my last will and testament now by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this 24th day of February in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred.
