IN RE: ELIZABETH INKPEN. DECEASED
This is the last will and Testament of me Elizabeth Inkpen of Shalloway Great Burin Widow I appoint my son Ephraim Inkpen to be sole executor of this my will. I give to my grandsons John and Joseph Walter also my grand daughter Evelyn sons and daughter of my late son Ernest Inkpen my dwelling House and Furniture and all things thereto belonging Also my two upper Gardens also another garden known as the Beach garden leading from a gate down towards my said Dwelling House The same to be divided in equal shares between my grandsons and grand daughter aforesaid when they or any of them shall attain the age of Twenty one years or shall marry. I also give to my said granddaughter Evelyn my English Gold Ring. I give my wedding Ring to my daughter Mary Ann Hallett. I give my French Gold Ring to Miriam daughter of my said son Ephraim. I give to my said son Ephraim a garden leading from the Gate above referred to to His dwelling House also my family Bible.
I give my watch to John son of Ernest aforesaid I give a Trunk formerly owned by my late husband to Leonard son of Ephraim I give my Trunk Bed Bedstead and Bedding to John son of Ernest. I also give a Bed to Joseph son of Ernest. I give a large chest formerly owned by my late husband to my son Ephraim.
I request that Sixty dollars be paid for my Funeral expenses and Tombstone and the remainder of all monies that I may be possessed of at my decease be equally distributed between my grandsons and grand daughter, sons and daughter of my said late son Ernest Inkpen. It is my wish that Ellen widow of my aforesaid son Ernest be allowed and permitted to reside on the property above mentioned That is to say the property herein willed by me to my grand sons and grand daughter as long as she remains a widow but in the event of her marrying again she forfeits all that right and must reside elsewhere And I hereby revoke all previous wills by me at anytime made and declare this paper writing to be my last will and Testament.
In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand this thirteen day of March nineteen hundred and nine - Elizabeth Inkpen - Signed by the said Elizabeth Inkpen the Testatrix in the presence of us present at the time who in her presence and in the presence of each other subscribe our names as witnesses Albert Inkpen Fisherman.
