William Aylward deceased.
In the name of God Amen. The twenty eighth day of August One thousand eight hundred and eighty one- I William Aylward of Knights Cove Bonavista Bay, planter, being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God: Therefore calling unto mind the mortality of the body knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form:
First I give and bequeath to Margaret my dearly beloved wife the sum of eight pounds pr annum to be raised and levied out of my estate together with all my household goods lands cattle and moveable effects during her lifetime and after her death to desend to my three sons William Thomas & Philip my son James has his part. Also I give to my well beloved son Thomas one hundred and twenty pounds to my beloved son Philip one hundred and twenty pounds to my son William one hundred and twenty pounds to my son James twenty five pounds. Also I give to my well beloved daughter Catherine twenty pounds Hannah twenty pounds Honor twenty pounds which is to be raised and levied out of my estate by my executor hereinafter named. Also I appoint my well beloved son William Aylward whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my sole executor of this my last will and testament all and singular my land messuages and tenements by him and his said brothers Thomas & Philip by them freely to be possessed and enjoyed.
And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies bequests and executors by me in any ways before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal the day and year above written William his X mark Aylward.
