In re William Hancock deceased. In the name of God Amen I William Hancock of Kings Cove Bonavista Bay in the Northern District of the Island of Newfoundland Planter being of sound disposing mind memory and understanding but mindful of the uncertainty of human life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say I do give devise and bequeath to Samuel Coffin of Kiels in the aforesaid Northern District of the Island of Newfoundland Schoolmaster his heirs executors and administrators for his and their use and benefit absolutely all my share of the property left me under my late father’s will namely my share of the fishing stage Cooper’s shop and Potato Cellar and of the large garden situate to the westward of the church being one third of each Also my share of my late father’s dwelling house and garden adjoining furniture cattle cow house meadow and other appurtenances also of the store and flake, also of the meadow on the Plate Cove Road below Curtis garden being one half of each. Also all the rest of my property wheresoever and whatsoever and of what nature kind and quality soever the same may be I do hereby give and bequeath the same to the aforesaid Samuel Coffin his heirs executors and administrators to and for his and their use and benefit absolutely And I do hereby constitute and appoint the aforesaid Samuel Coffin and his brother John Coffin of King’s Cove Schoolmaster joint executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testament by me at any time heretofore made- In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set and subscribed my hand and seal at Kings Cove aforesaid this nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight.
