In the name of God Amen I Patrick Blackmore of Pritchards Inner Island in the district of Bonavista Bay Planter being in perfect health and of sound understanding and memory calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all mortals once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent and Christian burial at the discretion of my executors And as touching such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First I bequeath to my dear wife Elizabeth Blackmore the sum of one hundred pounds and to my daughter Louisa Thirty five pounds currency the residue of my money to be divided equally between my four sons;     I give and bequeath to my two sons John Blackmore and Thomas Blackmore all my right title and interest to and in my dwelling house with furniture lands stores stages flakes gardens and land with any other erections thereon laying and situate in New Town known as heretofore as Inner Islands;     to my two sons George and David Blackmore I give and bequeath all my right title and interest in a Fishing Room with all erections thereon laying and situate on Pinchards Island together with all my seines nets and boats large and small together with all my other craft as well as all my land cultivated or uncultivated laying and situated on Pinchards Island known as the Fishing Room and building on the property of the late John Blackmore & Co. And in relation to my four married daughters Ellen Norris Rose Dowding Mary Rideout and Ann Parsons my four sons is never to see them in want or distress but to help and relieve them through their difficulties. In regard to the property that Harvy Dowding now occupies and lives on I give him all right and liberty to live on it as long as he chose and to build on it also. And my son David Blackmore is to remain and never be turned off the Inner Isld property as long as he choose to stay on it also George Blackmore if ever he want to return is to be taken back.     And I hereby appoint my son John Blackmore as my executor to this my last will & testament As witness my hand this twenty-third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy three.     Patrick his X mark Blackmore.     Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of John Hall.     and James Randle.
