In re
          Joseph Kean Sr. deceased.

The last will and testament of Joseph Kean Senr.     I Joseph Kean Senr hereby bequeath fifty pounds (50£) to my eldest daughter Ann Grunter Also fifty pounds (50) to my second daughter Hannah Sturge.     I also bequeath five pounds (5£) to my granddaughter Charlotte Cooze Also five pounds (5£) to my granddaughter Jessie Cooze Also ten pounds(10£) to my youngest son Abraham’s wife Caroline.     I also bequeath the remainder of my money (after deducting the aforesaid amounts) to my sons Samuel and Abraham.     the interest of which I bequeath to my eldest son Joseph as long as he lives     Signed Joseph his X mark Kean Senr.     In the presence of the following witnesses, witness our hand William Yetman, James Grunter, William J. Bartlett.     Drawn and signed by the above Kean Senr and in the presence of the above named witnesses this twenty sixth (26th) day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eighty two at Nortons Cove in the electoral district of Bonavist Bay North in the Island of Newfoundland.
