IN RE:     JOHN PRINCE. DECEASED   

In the name of God Amen

I John Prince of Seal Cove in Southward Bay in the District of Bonavista in the Northern District of Newfoundland Planter being of sound disposing mind memory and understanding but weak in body and mindful of the uncertainty of human life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say I wish my fishing room flakes stage stores and all appurtenances thereunto belonging situate in Seal Cove aforesaid, also my nets and seines and vessels and boats of all and every description wheresoever and whatsoever to be divided equally between my three sons John Robert and William to be by them enjoyed their heirs and successors forever, also I give devise and bequeathe my share in the horse and cows and sheep the dwelling house I at present occupy with the furniture that is in it and all my wearing apparel to my son William to be by him enjoyed his heirs and successors for ever Also I give devise and bequeathe all the land I own on the eastern side of the brook in Seal Cove aforesaid, both cultivated and uncultivated to my sons Robert and William to be by them enjoyed their heirs and successors for ever-

Also I give devise and bequeath all money of which I may die possessed, after payment of my just and lawful debts and funeral expenses and legal expenses incurred in proving this my last will and testament and after payment made for a decent headstone to be placed on my grave and the grave of my late wife Sarah Prince to all my sons and daughters in equal shares Also all other property of which I may die possessed whether in Tickle Cove or elsewhere, whatsoever the same may be and wheresoever situate I give devise and bequeath the same to my sons John Robert and William in equal shares to be by them enjoyed their heirs and successors for ever.

Also I hereby appoint my three sons John Prince Robert Prince and William Prince to be joint executors of this my last will and testamenT. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six-    John his X mark Prince (LS)

Signed sealed published and declared to be the last will and testament of the said testator who in our presence affixed his mark thereto, the same having been previously read over and explained to and approved of by him in our presence, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as attesting witnesses, Philip J. Levisconte, J.P. Kings Cove,    Charles Gould, Seal Cove.
