In re James Saint Sr. deceased. This is the last will and testament of me James Saint Senior of Bonavista in the Northern District of Newfoundland Merchant- First I give devise and bequeath to my wife Thirza Saint to my son James Saint and to my grandson James Saint son of Jabez all my property situate in the centre of Bonavista Harbour comprising dwelling house with shop attached the store adjoining the stage, the oil store the work store and the small store at the entrance of the new road together with two stages and all the flakes four in number, all the ground in and about the said property and also the garden and house called Readers now occupied by William Pardy to be equally shared between them and to their heirs executors and assigns- Second I give devise and bequeath to my son James Saint aforesaid all my property situate in Cannaile in Bonavista comprising houses and gardens and room called the Study and also a garden close to Joseph Cuffs and also the place called the farm situate close to the Catalina Road with buildings and other description of property thereon to him his heirs executors administrators and assigns. Third I give devise and bequeath to my wife aforesaid the meadow near by George Brown’s. Fourth I give devise and bequeath to my son Jabez Saint all my property situate in Mockbeggar Bonavista of whatsoever nature and description to him his heirs executors administrators and assigns- Fifth I give devise and bequeath to my wife Thirza aforesaid all the money that is deposited in my name in the Union Bank of Ndewfland and amounting to with interest to about Three hundred and seventy or eighty pounds currency or thereabout to her and assigns Sixth I give devise and bequeath to my wife, my son James and grandson James all aforesaid all my furniture books & chattels now in my dwelling house which I inhabit to be equally shared between them- Seventh It is my particular desire and request that my sister-in-law Elizabeth Campbell together with her daughter Margaret Campbell are to be comfortably provided for in lodging and all other needful support and necessaries during the term of their natural lives by my two sons Jabez, James and grandson James aforesaid- I appoint the Reverend John Goodison Wesleyan Minister in Bonavista and my son Jabez Saint to be executors of this my last will- In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-first day of July A.D. 1873.
