The last will and testament of me Benjamin Burry Senr of Greenspond, District of Bonavista, Newfoundland, made and drawn up this fourth day of June A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety one.     I Benjamin Burry Senr of my own free will, give into the hands of my son Job Burry all my Room, which consists of Fish Flake, two Stores and the ground, on which they are built, Waterside, and all my other land connected therewith.     I also will that my elder son Benjamin Burry have the same use of the one Store, Fish-flake, water side, and ground that he has always had, as long as he shall live.     At his, Benjamin Burry’s death, the whole property described above, shall fall into the undivided possession, right and title of my son Job Burry; and in case Job Burry, my younger son, die first, he shall have the right power and privilege to leave for the sole and only possession of his wife and family the property above described.
    The shop, and the ground on which it stands, in which my elder son Benjamin Burry does business, shall remain in his and his wife’s possession as long as they shall live; but the said shop shall not be let, rented or loaned to or used by any other party or parties at any time.     At the death of my son Benjamin Burry and his wife, the shop and ground on which it stands, shall fall into the hands of Joe Burry my younger son, or in case of his death occurring first, into the hands of his wife and family. Likewise, my house and all the ground which appertains to it, together with all the furniture & chattels etc. but not money, I give to my younger son Job Burry for his possession after my death.     Also the gardens which belong to me shall be given into his hands for his possession and use.
    I also will that all moneys belonging to me at my death, whether in the Bank or at home, or any where else, be equally divided between my two sons and only daughter, namely Benjamin Burry, Job Burry and Mary Hicks, each one taking or receiving one third of the whole amount.     It shall be the right of Benjamin Burry, my elder son, to divide all moneys, as above stated, at or after my death.     I also will that all the Cordage belonging to me and after my death be equally divided between Benjamin and Job Burry my two sons.     Signed by me Benjamin Burry Senr his X mark     In the presence of Joseph Parkins, Nathaniel Saunders, Stephen Burry.
