In the name of God Amen, I William Cole of Bonavista Newfoundland Planter, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner following [that is to say] First I order that all my just debts funeral expences and charges of proving this my will be fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof I give and bequeath unto my two grandchildren William and Benjamin Cole all my fishing room in Bonavista laying and bounded by Fords & Saints rooms with all the erections thereon for them their heirs and assigns nevertheless upon this consideration that their father Benjamin Cole shall on paying the sum of two shillings yearly rent have the free and undisturbed possession of the above premises during his natural life All the rest residue & remainder of my property both real and personal I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin Cole and lastly I constitute and appoint my aforesaid son Benjamin executor to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said William Cole the testator have to this my last will & testament set my hand and seal this sexteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty six. 

William his X mark Cole [LS] Signed seal'd published and declared by the said William Cole the testator as and for his last will & Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our names as witnesses thereto.
