In re WILLIAM WALSH. DECEASED. In the name of God Amen, This is the last will and testament of William Walsh of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland Shipowner. First I the said William Walsh do hereby will and desire that as soon after my decease as shall be convenient my executor hereinafter named shall pay off all just debts due by me. Secondly I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Catherine Walsh all my goods chattels real and personal and all my moneys assets and effects of every kind whatsoever and wheresoever situate to have and to hold to her and her assigns for ever Upon condition nevertheless that she and they shall and will maintain support and educate all and every of my children of her begotten and borne or hereafter to be begotten and borne as long as they shall live with her and obey her as dutiful and good children and until they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years and as far as my daughters are concerned until they shall respectively get married and leave her to do for themselves. And I do hereby will and desire that my said wife Catherine shall out of my said moneys assets and effects, real and personal, make such advancement and provision for the settlement of my daughters in life on their respectively getting married, or for the advancement of my sons respectively on their attaining the age of twenty one years as my said wife shall deem meet and prudent to make to them respectively and as their good conduct towards her shall merit. Lastly I will and desire that my said wife shall take the goods chattels assets effects moneys lands tenements and premises bequeathed to her as aforesaid free of the control of any husband she may at any time hereafter marry and subject to the conditions aforesaid and I do hereby appoint my said wife executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills made by me.In witness whereof I do here unto set my hand and seal at St. John’s the twenty eight day of November A.D. 1854 Wm.
